This morning, we woke up to the stunning Piton des Neiges, surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Cirque de Cilaos.
From La Roche Merveilleuse, a breathtaking panorama unfolds, offering a magnificent view over the village of Cilaos, famous for its therapeutic hot springs.
Our guided tour of the village revealed its unique charm, blending Creole traditions with mountainous landscapes.
Cilaos, a place where nature and serenity meet.
We headed to Ilet à Cordes, also known as « the end of the world ».
There, we met a “Peï” local guide, passionate about his land, who introduced us to the famous lentil fields of Cilaos, a regional specialty. We also explored the vineyards that are part of Cilaos’ reputation. The highlight of the day was a Creole lunch in the heart of nature, where we enjoyed delicious curries, an authentic and heartwarming experience in the Reunion Island wilderness.
A unique encounter, full of flavors and discoveries at the end of the world.
We visited one of the most striking spots on Réunion Island: the Gouffre de l’Étang-Salé. This natural site, where the raging ocean crashes fiercely between the black basalt cliffs, offers a mesmerizing show. The contrast between the wild sea and the dark volcanic rocks creates a dramatic, untamed landscape. It’s the perfect place to witness the raw power of nature while soaking in the rugged beauty of the Réunion coastline.
