We start the day by visiting the Tokyo Electronics District, there are a lot of electronics stores, Giga and Sega arcades, and video games, and especially the Yodobashi Akiba store, one of the biggest in Japan. It’s a very Geek atmosphere 😉 We hear a lot of very rhythmic Japanese music there… and we really see a lot of hyper-known derivative products like Mario, Nintendo, Starwars, Toy Story…
Continuation of the day in Akihabara, right in the middle of the Arcade rooms with Retro Games from the 80s and very recent games, the arcade rooms are very busy and lively in Japan, nothing to do with Europe where unfortunately they no longer exist.
Continuation of the visit to Akihabara. We also visit Don Quijote, and also the thousand kinds of “Kit Kat”, the best is the green one with Matcha !
Tokyo – Ramen
Continuation of the visit of Tokyo with a delicious Ramen! No Tonkotsu unfortunately, difficult to find during a heatwave in the middle of summer!
But we found a super good Ramen at Katsumoto Tsukesoba, Soy sauce !
Tokyo – Meiji-Jingū
Visit the Shinto shrine located in Tokyo in the Shibuya district, near the Harajuku district. This temple is dedicated to Emperor Meiji.
Shinjuku
Visit the Shinjuku district in Tokyo, a lot of people and it’s very very lively. We even see a giant statue of Godzilla and an animated 3D cat at the top of a building. Then we go to a very nice Brasserie.
Continuation of the exploration of Shinjuku. Between the neon lights, we had a lot of fun with the clamp games (I won a fox terrier dog plush with only 3 pieces of ¥100 🤣), an official Atari Pong, and of course some games of Mario Kart . This neighborhood is really a paradise for fans of video games and thrills!
Tokyo Olympic Stadium
Kobe Beef Wagyu Katana – Shinjuku
Still in Shinjuku, we finally have the opportunity to taste real Kobe Beef A5 Quality, indescribable so much it is delicious!!! And super good atmosphere in the restaurant.
Shibuya Crossing by Night + Karting
A magical night in Shibuya! We admired the famous Shibuya Crossing (the famous Tokyo pedestrian crossing) from the Starbucks Café upstairs, a breathtaking view. And as a bonus, Mario Kart “style” Karting races in the middle of the street! Tokyo, you know how to amaze us.
Yanaka Reien
The night will be short (Goodbye sleep)! We are visiting the Yanaka Reien cemetery, and we can see the Tomb of the last Shogun of the Edo Period, Tokugawa Yoshinobu.
