Discover the banks of the Main River in Germany towards Frankfurt, where nature and modernity meet harmoniously. Peaceful geese line the green banks (despite very gloomy weather, but it is December). You can admire the Frankfurt SkyLine, an impressive cylindrical tower, and the River Queen Boat (from Rotherdam, Netherlands), and an old steam locomotive, proudly smoking through the park, contrasting with the modern lines of the surrounding buildings. Between nature, industry and design, each corner reveals a different face of this vibrant city.
Typical Frankfurt meal at the Restaurant Frankfurter Wirsthaus.
A starter, a local dish, Handkäse mit Musik with strong flavors, combining marinated cheese, red onions and caraway.
A main course, an unmissable Frankfurt Schnitzel accompanied by potatoes and the famous green sauce (Grüne Soße), an explosion of freshness based on seven local herbs: chives (Schnittlauch), burnet (Pimpernel), borage (Borretsch), parsley (Petersilie), chervil (Kerbel), watercress (Kresse) and sorrel (Sauerampfer).
Delicious.
This afternoon, head to the Frankfurt Christmas Markets. Our first stop: the Altstadt market, nestled in the heart of the old town. Surrounded by magnificent half-timbered houses.
The illuminated historic facades give the market a magical atmosphere, while the wooden chalets offer artisanal creations and gourmet delights: Gingerbread, Hot Cocoa, Glühwein mulled wine. Frankfurt reveals all its old-world charm here, perfect for lovers of traditions and Christmas magic.
Visit to the official store of Eintracht Frankfurt Football Club, double UEFA Cup / Europa League winner in 1980 and 2022, in a Frankfurt Shopping Center during the Christmas Market.
We continue our visit to Frankfurt and its Christmas markets, before heading back to the Bus Park to return to Moselle. Great day spent in Frankfurt!
