We start our journey at Saarbrücken station, boarding the TGV to Berlin with a stop in Mannheim, to see the Round of 16 of the 2024 European Football Championship which is taking place in Germany.
The “stress” increases as the kilometers go by, we already exchange predictions and talk about the best places to see in Berlin.
Once we arrive, we give ourselves a little time to discover the lively streets of the city before joining the official Fan Zone of the Italian supporters.
This is where the atmosphere becomes really special: chants everywhere, stands of Italian food and German beer, the supporters in full swing.
The atmosphere remains very good-natured, with posters “Pizza + Raclette: Both are good” on the Italian side, and costumes as Sausage and Cow on the Swiss side.
After having enjoyed it, we head to the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, ready for the match.
After a long walk to reach the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, we are finally in front of this monument full of history.
We immediately notice the symbols of the 1936 Summer Olympics.
Once inside, we attend the opening ceremony of the match, a truly impressive moment that gets everyone in the mood, with the Italian supporters and the players all singing the Italian anthem Fratelli d’Italia together.
A nice little souvenir: we managed to get hold of one of the official Euro 2024 cups, a must-have for collectors!
The atmosphere in the stadium is incredible, the chants and passion of the supporters can be heard everywhere, unfortunately, the match does not go in our favor… Italy loses 2-0 against Switzerland and is eliminated. A disappointing result, but the experience remains unforgettable.
🇩🇪 29/06/2024 Berlin

Then, head for the station, the atmosphere is very festive with animated bars by the water. After a long evening (our train leaves around 5 am …) we take a Kebab Berlinois, and we leave Berlin by TGV.
