On June 15, 2024, head to Dortmund for the Italy-Albania match of Euro 2024.
Leaving from Moselle, I took the road to the Italian supporters’ parking lot for a day that promises to be intense.
Once arrived, it was time for local traditions: well-grilled bratwurst and German beer, the perfect combo to get in the mood.
Before kick-off, I explored the outside of the stadium and enjoyed the atmosphere: Italian and Albanian supporters together, the atmosphere is friendly and festive.
Forza Italia and bravo to the supporters for this unforgettable atmosphere.
On June 15, 2024, at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund, Italy faced Albania in their first match of Euro 2024.
From the kick-off, Albania scored against all expectations after a few seconds of play thanks to Nedim Bajrami, taking advantage of an Italian defensive error.
Fortunately, the Azzurri quickly equalized in the 11th minute of play with Alessandro Bastoni (header on a corner), then Nicolo Barella scored the goal for 2-1 five minutes later thanks to a powerful strike from the edge of the area.
Italy then controlled the game until the end of the match, winning 2-1 to start the tournament well.
This match was marked by an exceptional atmosphere, with a strong presence of Albanian supporters (more than 50,000), many of whom wore the “qeleshe” (their traditional headdress).
