An afternoon at the “Off Christmas Market” in Strasbourg. A great discovery with stands showcasing local crafts, ethical products and solidarity initiatives (Support for integration). The perfect opportunity to find unique gifts while supporting committed creators. The Christmas stands are maritime containers!
We then continue our visit to Strasbourg Cathedral.
After a nice stroll at the Off Christmas Market in Strasbourg, our day continued in a charming cheese shop decorated with a fun nod to the countryside, statues of Pigs, Cows and giant Cheeses.
Impossible to leave empty-handed in the face of so many temptations, I fell for a Munster, this typical cheese of the region with a strong character. I will surely make a Savoyard Raclette (well Alsatian…) with it 😅
And now the unmissable visit to the Christmas market near the Strasbourg Cathedral, with its traditional chalets and its very lively atmosphere, there are a lot of people. Right next door, you can admire the Kammerzell House.
Now we visit the Christmas Market on Place Kléber and its majestic 30-metre-high Christmas tree, originally from the Vosges.
Evening meal at Restaurant La Fignette. Chosen at random when leaving the Christmas Market and frankly it was perfect! Super Alsatian style decoration, a completely original menu (see photos), a delicious Flammekueche (Tarte flambée) with Mushrooms as a starter, then a Schnitzel breaded with Bretzel 🥨, really delicious. Then Tarte flambée dessert and Italian espress.
